Our Colorful Story

Hello and thank you for visiting. My name is LaVae Mathis and I am the creator of Colorful Favorites.

I've been creating online since 2013. Although I was a corporate controller at the time, I enjoyed gift consulting as a side hustle of sorts.

I did not have birthdays, Christmas, Valentines or other gifts as a child because of my mother's religion. So not only did I lose out on getting gifts like most, I also didn't get to give gifts like most.

So gifting is something I now cherish. I wanted to expand on that some years ago and advanced my gift consulting endeavors by creating a small gifting website. It was a great way to engage my sense of creativity and learn some new skills.

After some twists, turns, and various branch growing and trimming, I realized that focusing on gifting alone was a bit too narrow. I wanted to add categories like arts and crafts or pet items that one generally purchases for themselves. I also noticed that Colorful Products were often Favorites and best sellers.

Then as a bit more time passed, my husband's job offered the opportunity to relocate to Colorful Colorado. This added even more emphasis to that joyful word, colorful. So there you have it, Colorful Favorites was born.
